The Cleveland Guardians picked up a win at Progressive Field, downing the Minnesota Twins, 5-3. On the mound for Cleveland was right-hander Jose Y. Nunez, who played a pivotal role in the win. Nunez got the win, improving to 2-3. He gave up 9 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Heath Hembree was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

Cleveland center fielder Joe Young contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 32nd hit of the season and put the Guardians ahead, 4-3.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Nunez.

The loss drops the Twins to 16-14.
