The Detroit Tigers beat the Houston Astros, 5-4, at Minute Maid Park. The win was due in part to third baseman Al O'Mullan, who went 1-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Now 11-18, the Astros have not played well this season.
O'Mullan had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 changeup from José Morán, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Tigers a 5-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for O'Mullan.
"We were the better team," crowed O'Mullan.
