Tampa Bay pitcher Chad Maynard did his part in helping his team defeat the Cleveland Guardians, 6-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Maynard got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The Guardians fall to 14-18 and continue their lackluster start in 2026.

Dan Mitchell delivered a big hit for Tampa Bay. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rays ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
