White Sox Improve to 16-15 with 6-2 Win

Chicago White Sox starter Jesús Martínez kept the Oakland Athletics hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Steve Peters closed it out for Chicago, earning his 11th save. The Athletics, 13-19, continue their sluggish start to the 2026 campaign.
Addison Russell had a big bases-clearing double for the White Sox in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chicago leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Vito Porchianelo and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the White Sox ahead, 6-2.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Martínez.
