The New York Mets used the hitting of first baseman Patrick Vitzhum to subdue the Arizona Diamondbacks, 3-2. For the game, Vitzhum slugged 2 home runs. Terence McCray picked up his 7th save of the season. The loss drops Arizona to 16-15.

Vitzhum had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Mets went on to win.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Arizona manager Jake Mauer.
