Reds 9-5 Winners Versus Pittsburgh
The Cincinnati Reds overcame a pretty good performance by Pittsburgh right fielder Alex Jackson, beating the Pirates, 9-5, at PNC Park. Jackson was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Marcus Stroman, who finished 3rd in the AL in ERA with 3.07 in 2017, was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 12 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts. After today's action, Cincinnati sits at 16-17, while Pittsburgh falls to 18-16.

Walt Morris had a big 2-run double for the Reds in the top of the seventh inning. With Cincinnati leading 6-3 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from James Paxton, who finished 5th in the AL in ERA with 3.17 in 2015, and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reds ahead, 8-3.
