Toronto Beats Tampa Bay in 10-Inning Thriller
The Toronto Blue Jays needed 10 innings to beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 8-5, at Tropicana Field. The win was due in part to catcher Gil Greggio, who was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Toronto reliever Max Pearson was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Jon Carver. Picking up the save was Jake Barrett, his 4th.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Greggio delivered big-time for Toronto, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Jon Carver. The game-changing hit put the Blue Jays on top, 8-5.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Greggio after the game.

The Blue Jays improved their record to 17-18 with the win over Tampa Bay.
