Aberdeen pitcher Bob Bedser did his part in helping his team defeat the Williamsport Crosscutters, 3-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The win has Aberdeen at 5-2.

Aberdeen got a clutch hit from Jesús Gómez. The shortstop launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"Bottom line," said Williamsport skipper , "we didn't play well enough to win."
