López Excels, Texas Wins Wildcard Series Game 1
The Texas Rangers powered past the visiting Chicago White Sox, 8-6, in the opener of the Wildcard Series at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Texas left fielder Ignacio López was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, to lead the charge. The Rangers now lead the series 1-0.

In the bottom of the third, Texas designated hitter Jim Rivers had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Rivers stroked a 2-run triple to right-center. It made the score 6-3, Texas. For the game, he went 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Texas manager Eric Wedge told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Globe Life Park in Arlington in Arlington.
