Connecticut pitcher José Cervantes did his part in helping his team defeat the Williamsport Crosscutters, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Jarrod Mills snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Robinson Hernández suffered the loss. The victory makes Connecticut 6-4.

Jesús Ríos drew 1 walk for Connecticut. The 22-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Robinson Hernández. It was his 5th walk of the season.

Connecticut manager Bo Porter commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
