Red Sox Hammered by Johnson, Drop Game 2 to Tigers
The Detroit Tigers defeated the Boston Red Sox, 9-8, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series. Making an impact was designated hitter Tad Johnson, who went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win moves Detroit into a 1-1 tie with Boston in the series.

A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the third. That's when Johnson hit a changeup from Juan Cervantes for a grand slam home run, putting Detroit up, 5-1.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Johnson said.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 13th , 2026 at Fenway Park in Boston.
