Auburn Wins, 9-6, in Extra Innings
The Auburn Doubledays needed 11 innings to defeat the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, 9-6, at Eastwood Field. Auburn right fielder Thad Nelson had a superb performance. He was 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Chandler McIntyre picked up the win in relief for Auburn, while Juan Rodríguez took the loss. After today's action, Auburn sits at 11-11, while Mahoning Valley falls to 10-12.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Nelson delivered big-time for Auburn, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off Juan Rodríguez. The game-changing hit put the Doubledays on top, 7-6.

Nelson called getting the win a "good ending to a long game."
