Tri-City 6-2 Losers to Lake Monsters
The home crowd had a good time watching the Tri-City ValleyCats and Vermont Lake Monsters get after it.

Vermont pitcher Randy Hernández did his part in helping his team defeat the Tri-City ValleyCats, 6-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The Lake Monsters improved their record to 9-12 by beating Tri-City.

Ted Garland had a big run-scoring double for the Lake Monsters in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Vermont leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher José Zamora and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lake Monsters ahead, 2-0.

"We had a nice day," said Vermont skipper Grant Green.
