The Lowell Spinners stopped the Brooklyn Cyclones, 3-1, at MCU Park. The Spinners got a big game from Aguostinho Padia, who went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Lowell reliever Rubén Colón was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dave Barnett. Lowell is now 10-13, Brooklyn 15-8.

With Lowell leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Padia hit a fastball from Dave Barnett for a solo home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Spinners ahead, 3-1.

"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Padia told a local reporter after the game.
