Ironbirds Pull Out Late Win, 5-4
The Williamsport Crosscutters got a sterling performance from pitcher Steve Ives, but the Aberdeen Ironbirds still prevailed, 5-4. Ives threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. With the win, Aberdeen raised its record to 18-7.

Chuck Ward was the walk-off hero for Aberdeen. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ironbirds third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The crowd went wild," Ward said.
