Nationals Pin 6-4 Loss on Minnesota
|
Though he had a stellar game, Artie Cochran could not prevent his team, the Minnesota Twins, from losing, 6-4, to the Washington Nationals. Cochran went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. Jose Berrios, the winner, improved to 4-2. He held the Twins to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Dominic Bingham earned the save, his 13th, for the Nationals.
In the bottom of the fourth, Lucius Fox Jr. delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Washington shortstop hit a 2-run single, putting the Nationals in front, 6-4.
"Glad to see the fans get into it," said Fox Jr..
The defeat makes Minnesota 22-15.
