ValleyCats RF O'Day goes 3-for-5 in Win
Tri-City first baseman Bobby O'Day was a significant contributor in his team's 11-7 triumph over the Staten Island Yankees. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the ValleyCats. Joe Holmes got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 5.1 innings. Byron Thistle finished the game for Tri-City and earned his 1st save.

With Tri-City leading 4-0 in the bottom of the second, O'Day came up to bat against Staten Island pitcher Walt Holman. O'Day hit a changeup to center for a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season put the ValleyCats on top, 7-0.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said O'Day.

Tri-City now sits at 15-12, while Staten Island falls to 10-17.
