Tri-City wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ángelo Martínez, falling to the Connecticut Tigers, 6-5. Martínez threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. With the win, Connecticut raised its record to 18-15.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ed Cannon? The 26-year old second baseman Cannon stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Connecticut up, 6-5. For the game, he was 4 for 5, including 1 double and 3 singles.

"We didn't play well enough to win," Tri-City skipper Carlos Subero said.
