Due in large part to right fielder Chet Thompson, the Connecticut Tigers sunk the Lowell Spinners, 10-2. Thompson was 1 for 2 with 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Arsenio Pelayo picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 8 in 5 innings. The Tigers improved to a lofty 26-11.

Thompson got the Tigers off to a quick start. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single.

"They beat us, they beat us soundly," said losing manager Tony Castillo.
