Kevin Burke did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Brooklyn Cyclones from being beaten, 9-6, to the Staten Island Yankees at MCU Park. Burke was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Edgar López picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Ernesto Velásquez suffered the loss. With this game in the books, Staten Island is 16-21, Brooklyn 20-17.

Staten Island used the timely hitting of Max Williams to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Yankees on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Tyler Clippard.
