Mahoning Valley and Staten Island duked it out and the Scrappers came out victorious.

Dave Bovey knocked in 3 runs to help Mahoning Valley beat Staten Island, 9-6. Bovey produced 2 singles and 1 home run. Mahoning Valley reliever Chris McGuire got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Joe Ward was tagged with the loss.

With Mahoning Valley trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Bovey hit a cutter from Joe Ward for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Scrappers ahead, 5-4.

"It was a solid team effort," said Bovey after the game.

So far in 2025, Mahoning Valley is 22-21.
