|
Seattle Mariners starter Eric Wilkerson turned in an exceptional performance against the Chicago White Sox at Rate Field, resulting in a Seattle win, 3-2. Wilkerson got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Eddie Muggleston picked up his 10th save of the season.
The Mariners got a big at-bat from left fielder Bobby Howell. For the game, Howell was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Seattle a 2-0 lead.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Chicago manager Morgan Ensberg, "let me know."
The first-place Mariners have won 4 in a row.
