Spinners 9-4 Winners Over Auburn
The Lowell Spinners downed the Auburn Doubledays, 9-4, at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. Ed English led the way, going 2-for-2 for Lowell. Lowell reliever Rubén Colón got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Tommy Young was tagged with the loss. With the win over Auburn, the Spinners improved to 27-31.

Lowell right fielder Ron Lindsey contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a cutter to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 71st hit of the season and put the Spinners ahead, 3-1.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said English.
