Rangers Even Record with 4-3 Victory
|
Lance McCullers Jr., who finished 4th in the AL in strikeouts with 176 last year, propelled his team to victory over the Chicago Cubs. The final score was 4-3, Texas. The winner was Texas reliever Jeremiah Wright, now 1-0. The loser was Keury Mella. Picking up the save was Chris Wynn, his 3rd.
Shigenobu Ito drove in one run for Texas. The 32-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Keury Mella. It was his 24th RBI of the season.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ito told the Texas Today.
With the win, Texas raised its record to 19-19.
