Tigers Deal Ironbirds Painful Loss
The Connecticut Tigers picked up a win at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium, dropping the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 9-8. Arsenio Pelayo, who is tied for 7th in the NYP in quality starts with 5, was the difference-maker. Juan Barrera picked up the win in relief for Connecticut, while Etelson Peltier took the loss. With the win, Connecticut upped its record to 40-20.

Steve Owens delivered a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Tigers. For the game, Owens drew 1 walk.

"Being in first place now is good," said Owens. "Being in first at the end of the season is better. That's our goal."
