Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Connecticut Tigers and Tri-City ValleyCats.

The Connecticut Tigers picked up a win at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, dropping the Tri-City ValleyCats, 6-5. Jody Simmons, the 22nd overall pick in the 2023 draft, was the difference-maker. Getting the save was Filip Pauw, his 14th.

Though he didn't earn the victory, Simmons kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Connecticut offense came through. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 2 hits and 1 run, while striking out 10.

"I got in a good groove," said Simmons. "I was getting some swings and misses."

Connecticut has run its win streak to 4 straight.
