The Connecticut Tigers knocked off the Auburn Doubledays, 5-1, in New York-Penn League action at Falcon Park. Connecticut pitcher and Valencia, Venezuela, native Clemente Piccinini had an outstanding performance. Clemente Piccinini picked up the win in relief. Beau Brooks took the loss for Auburn. The Tigers have an impressive 44-23 record.

It could have been a different outcome for Connecticut, had it not been for Pete Yates, the 23-year old center fielder . Yates contributed a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put Connecticut up, 3-1.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Piccinini.
