Auburn right-hander Desi Muller pitched his team to victory over the Staten Island Yankees at Falcon Park. The final score was 5-3. Muller, now 1-0, was the winner. Auburn took a 4-3 lead on Joe Browne's 13th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Browne hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Staten Island pitcher Erik Green visibly frustrated.

"Desi -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Doubledays manager Brandon Crawford. "He was the key to us winning."
