Detroit left fielder Tad Johnson had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Texas Rangers, 7-0. The victory gives the Tigers a record of 23-17.

With Detroit leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Johnson hit a fastball from Sonny Gray for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 6-0.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Detroit manager Robert Carson.
