DeRenzo Lifts Hawks to 12-9 Triumph
The Boise Hawks defeated the Vancouver Canadians, 12-9. Center Fielder Kevin DeRenzo deserved a large share of the credit. DeRenzo was 4 for 5 with 2 triples, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 4 times and drove in 2 for the Hawks. Bhu Laput, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 3 innings. Vancouver is 6-9 after the loss.

Boise used the clutch hitting of Chris Boucher to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Hawks the lead, 10-8. For the game, Boucher had 2 singles and 2 doubles in 6 at-bats.
