Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Emeralds
Spokane third baseman José Gonzáles was sensational. He went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Eugene beat the Tribe, 10-9. Mario Barbosa earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Emeralds.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jim Maloney in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Townsley to win the game for Eugene. The home crowd went nuts.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Mike Benjamin, the Eugene manager.
