Eugene and Hillsboro duked it out and the Emeralds came out victorious.

P.J. Cunningham had a good game, but he could not keep the Hillsboro Hops from falling, 8-5, to the Eugene Emeralds at Ron Tonklin Field. The Hillsboro right fielder was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Today's win puts Eugene at 16-13, while Hillsboro falls to 18-10.

Eugene needed the clutch hitting of Mario Guerra to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Emeralds on top, 6-4. For the game, Guerra had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Guerra after the game.
