Big Day for Thomas in 18-6 Emeralds Win
A 3-RBI performance from shortstop Elton Thomas, who is tied for 7th in the NWL in stolen bases with 7, led the Eugene Emeralds to a win over the Tri-City Dust Devils, 18-6. The winner was Walt Johnson, who threw 109 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 6 runs on 12 hits. So far in 2025, Eugene is 22-18.

Stan Thompson had a big 2-run double for the Emeralds in the top of the second inning. With Eugene leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Ben Dundee and swatted a double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Emeralds ahead, 3-0.

"I felt good about my swing," said Thomas.
