Harris Delivers Walk-Off Win for Mariners
|
New York center fielder Tyrone Taylor had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Taylor went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4, even as Seattle beat the Yankees, 7-6. With the win, Seattle pushed its record to 22-19.
Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, speedster Norm Harris had a chance to be the hero. New York pitcher Jake Barrett wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Harris reached on an error by the SS, driving in 2 runs. The Mariners had themselves a thrilling win.
"What a buzz," said Harris after it was over.
