Mets Subdue Princeton, 1-0
|
The Kingsport Mets converted a terrific effort from starter Dan Walker into a win over the Princeton Rays at Hunter Wright Stadium. The Mets won the game by a final score of 1-0. The save was José Jiménez's, his 6th. The win hiked the Kingsport record to 14-8.
Don Spencer, who is tied for 7th in the APP in hits with 27, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Kingsport center fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Mets in front, 1-0.
Spencer was taciturn after the game. "A win's a win," he said.
