Royals Win, 6-2, in Extra Frames
|
Starting pitcher Dan Wiggins had a solid game. He was a big reason the Burlington Royals throttled the Pulaski Yankees, 6-2. Tony Burke was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Rizaldo Arcilla. By defeating Pulaski, the last-place Royals improved to 15-18.
It could have been a different outcome for Burlington, had it not been for Daniel De Jesús, the 22-year old catcher . De Jesús contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the 12th inning to put Burlington up, 3-2.
Wiggins attributed the win to his team's "dogged determination."
