Behind a solid performance from center fielder Alex Jackson, the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Colorado Rockies, 8-3. Jackson was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Pirates. With the win, Pittsburgh raised its record to 24-19.

Chris Riley hit a 2-run double off Josh Riddle in the bottom of the first, which put the Pirates in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Riley had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
