Rays Earn Clutch Win, 4-3
|
The Princeton Rays used the hitting of center fielder José Franco to subdue the Bluefield Blue Jays, 4-3. For the game, Franco went 2 for 2 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks. Princeton reliever Ken Greene was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Jake Cook took the loss. The Rays have an impressive 30-19 record.
A.R. Clark came through with a big-time hit for Princeton. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I still think this team can play even better," Clark told the Princeton Times.
