A 3-RBI performance from center fielder Cristián Colón, who is tied for 9th in the AL in stolen bases with 9, led the Boston Red Sox to a win over the Detroit Tigers, 6-4. Craig Kimbrel, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Boston now sits at 22-23, while Detroit falls to 24-20.

Colón had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 slider from Hugh Owens, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Red Sox a 6-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Colón.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Colón told reporters after the game.
