The Connecticut Tigers moved to within one game of the Round 2, downing the Batavia Muckdogs on the road at Dwyer Stadium by a score of 4-2. Tigers pitcher Juan Martínez threw 7.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Tigers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

José Ramírez, who is rated as the 19th best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Ramírez contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Connecticut up, 4-2.
