Padres Score Late to Upend Mariners, 6-3
The San Diego Padres topped the Seattle Mariners, 6-3, in National League action at Safeco Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Diego pitcher Mayky Perez. Steve Huff closed it out for his 5th save. Their 20-24 record puts the Padres 4th in the National League West Division.

Tim McDaniel came through with a big-time hit for San Diego. The center fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Mayky's a gamer," said San Diego manager . "Glad he's on our side."
