Baseball fans saw a good contest between the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners.

Don Hill, who is tied for 9th in the NL with a 1.06 WHIP, propelled his team to victory over the Seattle Mariners. The final score was 6-4, San Diego. The win went to Domynguos Venegas in relief, making him now 1-4. Eddie Muggleston took the loss for Seattle. Steve Huff collected save number 6.

San Diego needed the clutch hitting of Jamal Underwood to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Padres on top, 6-4. For the game, Underwood had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Underwood. "Obviously."
