The Los Angeles Angels overcame a pretty good performance by Los Angeles right fielder Yasiel Puig, beating the Dodgers, 5-2, at Dodger Stadium. Puig was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Picking up his 12th save was 29-year old left-handed pitcher Héctor Rosado. Los Angeles leads the American League West Division by 7½ games.

Los Angeles used a clutch at-bat from Mike Trout to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Angels ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"That's how you're going to be successful," said Angels manager Mike Scioscia. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
