The New York Yankees beat the New York Mets, 5-4, at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees got a fine performance from center fielder Tyrone Taylor, who went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. Jake Barrett closed out the game, earning his 4th save. The win puts New York at 17-29.

The Yankees got a big at-bat from left fielder Luis Torrealba. For the game, Torrealba was 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave New York a 5-3 lead.

After the game, New York manager Don Wakamatsu applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
