San Diego Gets 4-1 Win
|
The San Diego Padres took on the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field.
San Diego starter Wing-chiu Chin put the Seattle offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his curveball in leading the Padres to a 4-1 win. Earning his 7th save of the year was Steve Huff.
San Diego used a well-timed hit by Jorge Gordon to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Padres ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Gordon said.
The San Diego winning streak has reached 3 games.
