					| Marlins Handle Chicago, Snag 5-4 Win |
					| Bob Irvin was outstanding against Chicago. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the NL in wins with 5, had a slider that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Marlins 5-4 win. The win went to Dominic Leone in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Mariano Ortega took the loss. Getting the save was Robby Parkinson, his 3rd.
Miami took a 5-4 lead on Bob MacKerchar's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which MacKerchar hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chicago pitcher Mariano Ortega visibly frustrated.

"Bob did what Bob does," said Miami manager John Patterson.

The Marlins improved their record to 30-18 with the win over Chicago.
