Wilson Stars for Angels in 6-4 Win
|
The Los Angeles Angels trumped the Seattle Mariners, 6-4, at Safeco Field. Los Angeles second baseman Isranel Wilson was terrific. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Los Angeles reliever Derek Henderson snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tyler Chatwood shouldered the loss. Héctor Rosado notched his 6th save of the season.
Wilson had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 slider from Tyler Chatwood, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Angels a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Wilson.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Wilson told the Los Angeles Herald.
Los Angeles has now won 3 straight, while the Mariners have lost 3 in a row.
