Yankees Come Up Short at Colorado, 5-4
The Colorado Rockies racked up a win at Coors Field, bumping off the New York Yankees, 5-4. Bernardo García, who started for Colorado, pitched effectively for his team. García picked up the win for Colorado, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. Adrián López earned the save for Colorado, his 3rd of the year.

Joe Hill had a big 3-run home run for the Rockies in the bottom of the third inning. With Colorado leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Yordano Ventura, who finished 5th in the NL in ERA with 3.41 in 2021, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Rockies on top, 5-0.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said New York manager Don Wakamatsu. "But we decided not to take it."
