Rays Suffer One-Run Loss at New York
The Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees provided some drama for the home crowd.

Behind the hitting of Brad McBride, the New York Yankees stopped the Tampa Bay Rays, 5-4. McBride was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Yankees. Brad Gray earned the save for New York, his 7th.

Early in the game, McBride had a bases-clearing double for New York. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Yankees on top, 3-0.

New York manager Gary DiSarcina said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
