Blue Jays Take Nail-Biter Over Pirates
The Pittsburgh Pirates got a sterling performance from pitcher Luis Fernández, but the Toronto Blue Jays still prevailed, 4-3. Fernández threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Wes Poe snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. James Paxton suffered the loss. Toronto is now 25-26. Pittsburgh is 30-21.

The Blue Jays got a clutch hit from catcher Gil Greggio. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Blue Jays.

"This place was rockin'," Greggio said.
